Villa Postumana in the catalog of the Italian Pavilion of the 17th Venice Biennale
Our Villa Postumana is present in the catalog of the Italian Pavilion of the 17th Venice Biennale curated by Alessandro Melis.
Climate change is putting a strain on the valuable agricultural and food system, which is at the origin of the Italian urban model that has met with such great success in the world. Yet, it is precisely architecture and urban planning of the last eighty years that are the first cause of CO2 emissions, which are among the origins of the increase in frequency and violence of extreme climatic phenomena. This analysis clearly shows the centrality of architecture in this process: the world of architecture has the responsibility to offer its own contribution. “Comunità Resilienti”, catalog of the Italian Pavilion at the 2021 Architecture Biennale, wants to be just that: a reflection on the issue of climate change, which is estimated to be one of the main causes of emigration on a global scale and of diseases in the next thirty years. “Comunità Resilienti” is committed to researching what could be the strategies and resources to be put in place to face the greatest challenge of our time.
