Casa Giardino al Calascione is a house with a terrace and integrated garden on the ground floor of an 18th-century building in Chiaia, near Piazza dei Martiri. In this home, simplicity translates into a measured and fluid language, combining formal rigor and domestic intimacy. The long and bright kitchen is punctuated by continuous white surfaces that enhance the linearity of the design, without sacrificing the signs of everyday life that soften its precision. The hallway, with its rounded corners and grazing light integrated into the ceiling, takes on a surprising role: not a simple passageway, but a spatial experience, almost a meditative interlude. The heart of the home is the living room, organized on two softly interconnected levels. Downstairs, the red sofa embedded in the white becomes a cozy focal point; above, a light-wood mezzanine hosts green seating that introduces a convivial dimension. The staircase itself becomes a sculptural gesture, merging the sofa, console table, mezzanine, and desk into a single body. The entire project, despite its simplicity, conveys warmth and protection: an architecture that seeks not effect, but rather continuity between form and habitation. Outside, the terrace paving curves and recedes, revealing the lawn below.
